You require Silverlight to run OS getamap

We have just released the new version of our online mapping, called OS Maps. It does not require Silverlight and will work on almost all computers, tablets and smartphones.

Go to OS Maps now

If you prefer to continue using OS getamap, you will need to install the Silverlight plugin for your browser. Please be aware theat OS getamap will only be available until the end of July 2015.

Important information for Google Chrome users

Google has started reducing support for browser plugins, including Silverlight, from its Chrome browser. If you are using Chrome and see this page even after installing Silverlight, support has been removed in your browser.

You can access the advanced controls to enable it (see FAQ for details), but the easiest option for most people is to use an alternative browser, such as Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Unfortunately, Microsoft Silverlight is not compatible with Linux operating systems.

Have a look for yourself...

Why download Silverlight?

  • Silverlight is a free plug-in.
  • Silverlight is powered by the Microsoft.NET framework.
  • Silverlight allows smooth, fast zooming in high resolution to Ordnance Survey maps with the fast load time.

You do not have Microsoft Silverlight installed. You have to install Silverlight to use getamap.
